Bennie Lueders
Bandleader, bass player, and great singer, Bennie Lueders, a true Western Swing Pioneer. We are so proud to have him be a part of our event this year.
Junior Knight
If you haven't heard Junior play, you are in for a treat. He plays the steel with strength and class. He's one of those steel players that can just blow you away with his style. Check him out, you'll feel some "Steel Relief".
Tommy Olan Hancock
Tommy Olon Hancock, started playing Western Swing after WWII with his band The Roadside Playboys, out in West Texas. Tommy sang, and played twin fiddles and guitar and his wife Charlene played keyboard bass. Tommy was the embodiment of 'Awww'!
Jimmy Burson
Former Academy of Western Artists Western Swing Vocalist of the Year, Jimmy has been a Western Swing fan since finding the album called 'Together Again' with Bob Wills and Tommy Duncan. He's been performing world wide since then. A very deserving inductee into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame.
Michael Christian
One of the great jack of all trades when it comes to playing drums, He played with so many important Texas acts since his high school days while living in the Austin area.
The Roadside Playboys
Tommy Olon Hancock, pictured here with the Roadside Playboys. Standing left to right, Squeaky Rhoades, Tommy Hancock, Curly 'Big Dog" Lawler and J B Westbrook. Bottom row l to r, Billy Manley, Charlene Condray, and Buddy Wilson. He remembers his bandmates and he was inspired by Charlene's vocals. He later married her in '56 and continued the band with her on keyboard bass and vocals and Tommy on fiddle, guitar, and vocals.
BOBBY WYNNE
Bobby was known for his silver Trumpet, sweet voice, and was the band leader of Bobby Wynne and the Kings of Western Swing. His goal was to play every stage possible coast to coast, sharing the joy of WEstern Swing.
